I've had a few requests lately, asking how to determine which front end part needed to be replaced. I try to show how to check the inner tie rods, the outer tie rod ends, and the upper & lower ball joints. This is a combination of 3 different videos on 3 different vehicles. I hope this helps.
one of my wheels has play when I move it vertically back and forth(opposite axis movement of tie rod check). I thought that means wheel bearing, is that correct?
I like the way you jack up only one wheel, effectively holding the other wheel solid on the ground. The first time I did this, I did it with both wheels in the air. I was fooled because the wheel showed play, but it was play all the way up the steering column, held fast by the steering wheel lock because I had the key out of the ignition. With the other wheel fast to the ground you can't make that mistake.
