Don't go there in the summer!!! He's not exaggerating the number of snakes and the tracks are sandy as hell. In the winter the rain makes the sand cake which makes it easier to walk across but at night it gets cold and very humid. Nonetheless the perfect place to go if you want to get away from people which is why I love it...
