Faced with the threat that Williamson County would cancel its contract with Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) to sponsor the T. Don Hutto Residential Center, CCA sent Houston trial lawyer Jay Brown to advise the County Commissioners that the County has no liability for any violations of law that occur at the Hutto facility. Hutto is run by CCA pursuant to its contract with the County. The Commissioners voted to delay their decision and consult with CCA's representatives.
