I am livid about a therapist in my program who I feel took advantage of my situation. I opened up to this person because I was led to believe that it was part of the Aftercare WLS program and was covered by my insurance. This therapist knew I was seeing 2 other therapists (and had been for some time) and was making great strides with them. This therapist asked me to pay up front and submit my receipts to my insurance company for reimbursement. I opened up to this person about my serious trust issues, put my trust in this person and was taken advantage of. The insurance is not going to reimburse my payments to him. The NEW Program told me that I would need to work through this with him and that seeing him outside of the office was not part of the program (as I was led to believe.) This therapist betrayed my trust and as someone who has serious anxiety and trust issues, this was devestating! I had a 2 day panic attack, the worst I had all year. This was caused by a THERAPIST of all people!!!! Word of advice to you, if a doctor wants to see you outside of the program, make sure to clarify whether it is a required, that they take your insurance, and that you do not pay them up front. He made $450.00 for sitting there and listening to me tell him my history, which is something that both of my other therapists already know and they ARE covered by my insurance plan. I have been seeing them both for over 2 years and they have NOT taken advantage or betrayed my trust. Shame on this therapist and shame on The NEW Program!

  • I've watched a few of your YourTube videos and noticed how everything always seems to be everybody else's fault. You say that your family "should" love you unconditionally, but do you love them unconditionally? Don't get that impression.

Anyone ever suggested you could have some sort of personaility disorder? I'm a mental health professional and the way you are rings a lot of bells. Hope you find what you're looking for, but I find your videos really depressing.

  • Not true & as a health care professional, you should know better than to pass judgment without seeing the whole picture. My video series is educational & informative. I have chosen YT as my support group and the weight loss surgery community has been very supportive. You may have chosen to watch the videos that involve my anger towards my family and life's challenges. Most of my videos are related to my surgery. You can watch the videos of others if you find me to be such a downer.

  • I have two words for you REPORT HIM.........

  • I spoke with my regular therapist (the one I've had for 2 years) and she said I should talk to him so he is clear on what happened. She thought it was strange that he did not coordinate with her, which is the standard if you have more than one therapist. I will have to talk to him about it but I am waiting until I calm down bit. I would hate to report him if he is just clueless. I will have to let you all know how it goes.

  • hope everything sorts its self out for you,

i'm from the uk and everything was free on the nhs over here, if i had to pay i know i couldnt afford what i had done, saying that it took 4 year to get the op

  • Whoa, 4 years is a long time. Free is good :)

  • @Shhhnow1 No animal fat maybe but no fat at all (from healthy sources- olive oil, almonds, etc) is extremely bad for you.

  • All the money in the world wouldn't give you what you want. You have to take responsibility for yourself, change what you eat and drink, NO sugar, NO salt and NO fat and 0 tolerance, you can eat as much as you like as long as its only got trace of the above in.... This is the only way your going to lose weight, no-one else is to blame. Go for it, because your worth it! x

  • I have you all for support but I still mourn for unconditional family or best friend support that I feel should be there. Baby steps, once the trust comes back, the friends will appear everywhere :) thank goodness for Xanax - on the rare occasion I need it, it sure does the trick!

  • Meee toooo! I cant wait!
