@TheMasterofApathy i think its the sudden bursts of violence, and the impact. if you take all the gore from hellsing ultimate for example, and compare it to all the gore from elfen lied, hellsing ultimate will win. E.L started off with a violent sequence (which dropped a lot later), and injures more significant people (like nana/children). people will notice this easier and thus finds it to be more violent. its setting is also lighter so the gore would come unexpected, contributing to impact.

What's the anime where a guy in a gestapo type uniform rides on a giant flying manta ray at one point? There's something to do with eyes (he has one in his mouth at one point I'm sure) and the moon maybe?

All I can remember is this massive ray hovering over a town and casting a shadow over it... and this guy with an eye in his mouth and that's about it. screened on UK tv in the 90's (ch4)?

Can't find any info. NO one so far has helped

@sphero25 Unfortunately no, just the anime series and this movie. A season 2 is being developed, but no release date yet :(
