I used to hate most stuff by bach, then we played his second brandenburg concerto last year. And now we have this. And I'm now in love with everyone's favorite long-dead German dude. Also, I will explain why some Bach music doesn't make sense. He composed before the Italian octave system won out in the great music war. The German system uses the entire alphabet, rather than just the first seven notes. Bach would spell a person's name in music and then write the rest of the piece off of that.

Looks like Suzuki had done arrangements for most of the famous pieces that had even been composed. So if it is not in the Suzuki book, the piece probably isn't very famous...

Parts for Violin I & II, Viola, and Cello are in the Suzuki Method books though?

my favorite song in both book 4 and 5 :) before my teacher taught me I've finished practicing all by myself and my teacher asked "so you've finished all, which is your fave songs?" i replied 'def concerto in d minor by bach' and my teacher was shocked cuz she told me that most of her students, included she herself hated to learn this song when she was young because of the complicated notes, hahah!

People have different tastes. Some people such as me, likes baroque melodies by Bach, Vivaldi, and Purcell while others people prefer music by Accolay or Mendelssohn.

I have a recording of Pinnock, which is close to the "original" you are probably talking about. For this arrangement, it was meant for practice books which includes Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, and Cello.
