If you consider if the EU there is only one name which can be taken seriously! And that guy is compromise more difficult conflict's than Tony Blair or eany other diplomates in European unioin. And that guy have shown to the he is worthy ot that bost. And he is nobelist of peace Martti Ahtisaari.

Better be a euro-superstate than pseudo uninion of euro-islamic states. The subject of islam in Europe is one of the main issues in the union with out a doubt, it's just that some still don't realize it.

"It seems the EU is not learning from what is happening right now in the US. " yes... but anyway, Europe must unite, I see no alternative, you said you don't mind the muslums, but I bet there isn't a large population of muslums in your contry. Believe me, you DO mind them.

Topolánek speaks english, but nur manchmal :-), patrně se bojí mluvit bez přípravy...

to me he seemed very diplomatic and didnt want to take sides on anything, just the right guy the corporate elite wants.

from your comment i bet you live in one of the newest EU countries. The problem is the way things are going, we're headed into a federal, fascistic superstate where everything will be privatized, you'll pay the taxes for the corporate greedy, you'll lose your constitution and you wont get to vote on any matters.
It seems the EU is not learning from what is happening right now in the US.
Give him a chance and make your judgment after 6 months, man!

I would have to add my two cents and say that effective regulation that is geared toward having effective education, healthcare, employment and the basic opportunity for everyone should be the policy of any country. There is the old saying that to much of anything can be bad for you. But I would also say that to little of anything can be equally as bad for you. It's all in finding that balance in policy formation which is like chasing a rabbit if you ask me.
