  • you should do the opening procedure first, that includes lock the wheels of the bed and make sure bed is in lowest position before doing the procedure itself.

  • I was taught to assist the patient to stand by placing your dominant foot between the patient's feet while grabbing onto both sides of the gait belt, count to 3 and assist to stand, not to just tell them to stand. That's where the assisting should come into play. Also, I was taught to hold onto the back of the gait belt as they walk while you stand to the side so that if they fall you can catch them. The assisting with ambulation in this video is not correctly shown.
