Moncton Fire & Rescue were first on scene of this pedestrian truck accident on St. George Blvd this afternoon at 3:35pm. NB Ambulance service and Codiac Regional RCMP arrived not long after . A 11 year old girl was hit in the side crossing the street . Long brake marks on the pavement from where the truck tried to stop. The young girl was crossing a busy 4 lane street not close to a crosswalk, only a 50km zone but most of the traffic is going 70-80km/h on the Blvd. The young girl was transported to hospital. Road conditions were dry at the time of the accident. Codiac RCMP were speaking to the driver of the truck after the ambulance left had him pull his vehicle into the apartment building parking lot at 593 St. George Blvd.
Video aired on CTV news with kelland Sundahl.

  • @IfuckinghateUK shut up you hit a dam girl

  • @robynnowlan1 I have noticed that even those pedestrian crosswalks do nothing to slow people down, the lights on the crosswalks when the button is pressed, should be RED not YELLOW. June 10th 2011 I witnessed an adult male and his child almost get hit, he and the child crossed at the pedestrian walkway when the lights we're flashing yellow, and people still never even slowed down. RCMP will go in full force for teens playing in the mud. But only one car will show up if someone gets hit =S

  • @IfuckinghateUK I believe you bud, but see people on here like to bitch about other when in reality they are the only losers on here. Some people should drive in Toronto for a couple days then see just how bad it is here....

  • i was driving that truck and i didnt mean to hit her

  • well if she had of crossed where she was supposed to of crossed and not just crossed in the middle of a very busy street she would not of been hit by a truck. This is moncton and people are changing lanes , talking on cell phones , texting each other and 9 times out of 19 arent paying attention to the roads as is . so walking out in the middle of a street is not a good idea young or old

  • I'd go throw myself in the street & get run-over if that cute blonde Paramedic came to my call !

  • Oh my god , that girl's in my class . Her name is Jessie and we're friends . I almost cried when I saw her at school on Monday .. :( She's pretty beat up bad , with this big gash on her arm and really bad cut thing on her face .

  • She's very lucky, but I agree with the comments about where she was crossing. I know there's lights along the Blvd, and proper cross walks for ppl to use. It seems the truck was breaking, based on the marks on the road. If she darted out from between parked cars (for example) onto the Blvd, no surprise she was struck. It's very sad, but jaywalkers should be ticketed. They certainly ticket for it in Ontario.

  • This is sad!

  • well he was doing the speed limit ..if the police would ticket more the jaywalkers with hefty fines maybe they would stop........

do not blame all drivers for accidents ...jaywalking is illegal
