This song is not only older than the Blues Brothers...no, I don't mean it was released before the movie or before the band formed...I mean it was around before John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd were BORN.
This is a Cab Calloway classic from 1931 - but you are right, the proper title is "Minnie the Moocher."
Also, the Blues Brothers weren't present when it was performed in the movie - Cab sang his own song to stall BECAUSE they were not present for their own show (running from the cops).
