@celestialscents Make sure the sensor is faced toward the key light. Try turning off any ambient light.

I started out with this same kit about 2 years ago, (although my strobes were gray and configured a bit different). I recently upgraded to 3 Alien Bees. While I did manage to get some very nice photos with the Cowboy Studio lights, in hindsight, I wish I would have invested in the Alien Bees from the beginning.

@shouldigetit sweet thank you! umbrellas would be so much easier to haul around then those soft boxes. this really helps me on whether or not i should buy this.

how is it for outdoor night shooting i shoot bmx and skateboarding and i enjoy shooting at night and i use just flashes and a mini soft box and i want to get this how is it for out door stuff and daylight?
do the brackets have a mounting point for umbrellas?
