With Hurst Cross being a ground with little success for FC, the Reds came away with all three to the huge relief of the majority of the crowd. On a night were Matthew Wolfenden hardly put a foot wrong, his brace of excellent goals started the fun after ten minutes. A deft chip over the Ashton keeper started the scoring but the second was just sublime. 20 minutes in and from nearly 30 yards out, what looked like just a subtle touch, sailed beautifully into the upper reaches of the net. Aaron Burns was brought down in the second half and duly converted his penalty, but unfortunately Dean Stott couldn't match that feat minutes later. Three points.
