Absolutely not, in fact it's immoral. It has certainly been our policy though.

Is it the job of the US to police the world?

No, but you implied it. We HAVE been doing shit like that since World War 2, not just the end of the Cold War. And almost all of those cases have been wrong.
I think we can agree that Bush deserves no respect.

i never claimed he was a champion of peace. heres the thing, we have been doing horrible shit like that since the cold war. we have been involved in every armed conflict in the world in some way or another for the past 50 years. of course, i tend to live in the present. and in that respect, bush deserves no respect.

Well, he essentially killed half a million Iraqi children, I'd call that an act of war. I'd say we committed acts of war in Somalia. I'd say sending the huge amount of troops and contractors to Bosnia was an act of war. I'd say supporting Indonesian asshole whatshisname was an act of war. He also launched numerous cruise missiles into Afghanistan(which turned out to be understandable), but was an act of war nonetheless. He was no champion for peace. At least not for Americans.

LOL Really? He didn't involve the US in wars that we previously were not a part of? I suggest you read my other post directed at you.

Again...bullshit. Clinton's policies KILLED at least 500,000 Iraqi children. Who knows how many adults. How many Iraqi warlords did he catch? For that matter, how many Somalian warlords did he catch? Wanna guess how many died in East Timor with Clinton's blessings?
He also went to war in Bosnia with neither a declaration of war by congress, nor UN approval. Bush was able to use both. Not defending Bush, but with the exception of the intel, he's been way more straightforward than Clinton.

Bullshit. Take a history class whenever you sign up for econ. We didn't have an income tax until 1913. I don't advocate getting rid of ALL tax...just income tax. We had a standing army before then too. If there was ZERO income tax and an inescapable 1% tax on all goods and services the federal government would have as much revenue as it had in 2000. Only it wouldn't be collected through tyrannical means.
