  • This is not chinese version but cantonese

  • @kenzoandhanzo This video is to introduce Faye's voice to the westerners and most of them cannot differentiate between Mandarin and Cantonese. Therefore i don't have to name the title precisely but instead of it, i just put "chinese version" in general. I am a Chinese dude by the way.

  • Faye Wong is so beautiful and she does an excellent job remaking this song…sounds so much like the original.

Does anyone know if she did this song in Mandarin as well?

  • @jennniles yes she did both Cantonese and Mandarin version for this song.

  • holy shit. PIIISSSSSS

  • @kenzoandhanzo Thanks for the reply. Yes, it's true that Mandarin is recognized as Chinese nowadays, and it’s now called “common language” (普通話) in China. However, it was actually a Beijing dialect (北平話) in the past. In Japan, for example, Mandarin is still being called “Beijing language (北京語).” Cantonese is widely spoken in the South; saying that Cantonese is not Chinese does offend a lot of people, that’s why I wanted to clarify that :)
