Thanks Jim! I lived in Loxton (within wellie-hoying distance of The Rock) for 6 months about 37 years ago. A decade earlier I sang this hymn many times as a chorister in Carlisle Cathedral.-He grew the tree(cross)..He cleft the rock(my Saviour)..He knows the future(my Salvation)..therefore.."On Christ the solid Rock I stand,..All other ground is sinking sand,..all other ground is sinking sand". May God Bless You and keep you safe in His Love..

AUGUSTUS TOPLADY - he wrote one of the world's best hymns while sheltering from a violent thunderstorm.
LIGHTNING briefly illuminated the primitive, rock- hewn landscape of (Burrington Combe in Somerset ENGLAND) It was followed by a deep growl of thunder, and then rain lashed mercilessly down, pouring bubbling streamlets down the craggy sides of primeval cliffs which rise up some 250ft.
THE nearby village OF (Burrington Combe) IS JUST A FEW MILES AWAY FROM MY HOME
