Boss AC-2 vs Behringer AM100

I recently bought a Boss Ac-2 and have put the Behringer AM100 on Ebay. Before it went I thought I'd do a straight comparison video as I hadn't seen one on Youtube. I have to say that neither of these pedals sound convincingly like an acoustic but they are handy to have.

Its played through an Epiphone Les Paul Standard through both pickups with the volume backed off and the tone evened out. I find if the guitar is turned right up you get a horrible trebly type distortion when you strum hard. The pedal output goes straight to an audio interface and into Garageband so there is no Amp.

The settings I have left in the same position on both pedals to give a straight like for like comparison, I had to turn the Am100 level up though as it seems a lot quieter than the Boss. The popping noise when I engage the AM100 happens every time you turn the pedal on.

Last time I looked the Behringer AM100 was £22.99 and the Boss was £89.00 although I paid £27 for mine on Ebay.

I HAVE THE AM100 AND I MUSTA GOT LUCKY BECAUSE MINE DOESNT POP LIKE YOURS,NEITHER DOES MY TO100 ? BUT A BUDDY OF MINE BOUGHT THE AM100 AND HIS POPS ALSO ? I RUN THE AM100 THREW A COMPRESSOR THEN THREW A EQ AND RIGHT INTO MY MARSHALL FULL STACKS EFFECTS RETURN AND SOUND GREAT, NOT A FULL ACOUSTIC BUT AS CLOSE AS I CAN ASK FOR OUTTA A 30 DOLLAR PEDAL!! TRYED TO RUN IT THREW THE PA AND FOUND I LIKE IT BETTER THREW THE AMP! GREAT REVEIW WAS THAT JEWEL YOU WAS PLAYING?

@browncitycrew I always use it at the front of the chain. It sounds pretty terrible in conjunction with any other effect so I tend to use it on its own with my amp in preamp bypass.

I would say this: Boss products are more built for reliability on stage and touring. Behringer are great aswell but more for bedroom/recording use. Sound wise you can get them to sound similar for sure!

Shite! Both of 'em! Can't believe i watched this. 1:19 am. Home from the pub, after a few, and I chose to watch this? Un-real... I've become a real boring bastard. I hate myself for this. Hopefully I'mm forget about it in the morning, but for now, this sucks. I don't even know why someone would want an acoustic simulator? Why not just play your acoustic? Get a job, and I'll get a life!

What? Yes, I did feel like saying something about the over use of capital letters but that doesn't mean I don't play guitar. I am recently looking into a BOSS AC-3 and the ST-2 because my Line 6 Floor Pod Plus cannot create the kind of tone I am looking for.
