The Lion King is a Walt Disney franchise. The success of the 1994 American animated feature The Lion King led to two direct-to-video sequel films, The Lion King 1 ½ and The Lion King 2.
The Lion King is the original film. It was produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation premiered in selected cities on June 15, 1994, and widely released to theaters on June 24, 1994 by Walt Disney Pictures. The Lion King is the 32nd film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics and belongs to an era known as the Disney Renaissance.
The Lion King 1½, also known as "The Lion King 3 Hakuna Matata" in some countries, is the second direct-to-video installment of the film series released by Walt Disney Home Entertainment. The film is a chronologically concurrent sequel to the first film, focusing on Timon and Pumbaa.
The Lion King II: Simba's Pride was released by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment. The film centers around Simba's daughter, Kiara, who falls in love with Kovu, a male lion who was raised in a pride of Scar's followers, the Outsiders. Desperate to be together, they must overcome the two obstacles that are keeping them apart: Kovu's mother, Zira, and Simba's prejudices against the Outlanders.
O Rei Leão é o 32º filme animado de longa-metragem da Walt Disney Pictures, lançado em 1994. O filme teve duas sequências, O Rei Leão 1½ e O Rei Leão 2: O Reino de Simba. O filme conta a história de Simba, um pequeno leãozinho que é filho de Mufasa, o Rei Leão, e da rainha Sarabi. O recém-nascido recebe a bênção do sábio babuíno Rafiki mas, ao crescer, é envolvido nas artimanhas de seu tio Scar, o invejoso e maquiavélico irmão de Mufasa, que planeja livrar-se do sobrinho e assumir o trono. Quando Simba se vê injustamente acusado pela morte de Mufasa, sua única chance de salvar sua vida é se exilar das Terras do Reino. Ele encontra abrigo junto a outros dois excluídos da sociedade, um javali chamado Pumba e um suricate chamado Timon, que lhe ensinam a filosofia do "Hakuna Matata" (sem preocupações). Anos depois, ao ser descoberto por Nala, sua amiga de infância, Simba tem que decidir se deve assumir suas responsabilidades como rei ou seguir com seu estilo de vida despreocupado.
O Rei Leão 1 ½ - Hakuna Matata é um filme de animação produzido pela Disney em 2004. É o terceiro título da série, ou seja, a continuação do filme O Rei Leão de 1994. Mostra quase a mesma história do primeiro filme, só que contada por Timão e Pumba. Timão mostra num filme como era a sua vida na terra dos suricates e como conheceu Pumba. Timão e Pumba são simpáticos amigos, os grandes heróis da savana. O Rei Leão 3 leva-nos ao passado, antes do início da história de Simba, e ainda mais para trás. Nesta nova comédia de aventura, Timão e Pumba descobrem suas origens, quando eles se conheceram e como ajudaram Simba a salvar Serengeti.

@KawaiiLukiie it makes really no sense calling it #3 since they are still small and Kovu and Zira does not appear in the movie. It should be 1 1/2 worldwide
