You Just Don't Know It [S1 E17 "Mixed Up"]

-Monday-
MILEYS POV;
I walked out of my house wearing sweats, and hugging my sweater towards me. My pink backpack hung from my folded arm and dragged as I walked down the driveway. I was makeup-less and my eyes were red from crying. My hair was in a tangle and my shoe-laces were coming undone. I had never gone a day like this, never even carried a backpack. I couldnt help it- I was either really happy or really emotional. I was normally the happy one but that single smirk just shattered my heart.
Nick: hey Miley
I heard my voice. I think, I could barely tell. I couldnt comprehend a thing when in deep thought. I continued walking to my car face down. I dug through my backpack for the car keys and sighed when I realized I left them in the house. I turned around to walk towards my house but stopped when I ran into Nick who embraced me with a hug. We stood there for a minute then let go, and I looked up at his face. His eyes were filled with kindness and how big and brown they were.
Nick: want a ride to school?
I nodded and walked with him to his black range rover. He grabbed the handle and opened the door ushering me into the car. I stepped inside putting my backpack between my knees and we rode to school in silence.
Miley: I hate your car
Once I realized what I said I covered my mouth. Another habit, saying random things when lack of talk.
Nick: *chuckles* me too
I turned my head and my eyebrows furrowed in confusion. He parked then turned to face me smiling.
Nick: its too flashy. I rather have a truck, or a vintage mustang.
I smiled then wiped my eyes.
Miley: just what we had back in Tennessee
He smiled friendly and we got out of the car. As we walked I saw Mitchel and I turned around and steered myself towards a ton of people I didnt know. Nick pulled me around my shoulder and put his arm on my waist pulling me near him so he could whisper.
Nick: *whisper* dont let him get the satisfaction
I looked straight ahead and walked. Nick glared at Mitchel as we strolled by and soon I was safe inside the school.
Miley: thanks but h-
Nick: Cody told me
Miley: oh
Nick: see you in class
I watched him walk off, how come hes being so nice to me? I was interrupted when Joe waved his hand in front of my face, snapping myself out of it.
Joe: helllooo? Miiiilllleeyyy?
Miley: what?
Joe: staring at him again
Miley: hes having multiple personalities
I opened my locker and took out books. Before I was even turned around Demi and Selena embraced me in a hug.
Selena: you ok Mi?
Demi: yeah shmilerzz?
I smiled at my friends, they were so great.
Miley: perfect. *smiles* it was only a week thing anyways.
Demi: *smiles and laughs* I hhhavvee an idea!
Selena, Miley *same time*: BOY HUNTING AT THE MALL!
*Joe smacks himself in the face*
Demi: what was that for?
Joe: Im surrounded by girls.
Selena: every guys dream!
Joe: *laughs* I just want you guys to be careful. There can be some real creepers out there. Real nice then BAM rape.
Miley: we will be, dont be a dad. *kisses his cheek*
Selena, Demi, and I walked down the hall. For a second I thought I saw some pain in their eyes. What was I kidding, that was only me and that pain had already subsided when Nicks warm breath covered my face.
Miley: just wondering has nick ever been like rude to you then super nice?
Demi and Selena exchanged a look then looked back at me.
Selena: Nicks nice 24/7... Ive never seen him even glare at someone
Demi: why is something wrong?
Miley: * I shook my head* no I was just curious, he always is happy.
