Hearts of Iron III FTM : Taking part as Lithuania (4x speed)

I got this game 2 days ago, and I always try playing a small country in games like this and effectively do something.
After learning a bit about the game I tried aligning with the Axis as Lithuania, but it's practically impossible to make a stand against Russia, especially because the big war hasn't started by then so there is no help from Germany. So I gave up on that after 3 tries.

Then I tried aligning with the Com-Intern and this summarized video is how the first time went. For some reason Germany was no more before 1942 began. Russia liberated me a few times but you can see the AI is really stupid with liberation, they retreat from my soil and let the Axis just take it again. I was just lucky the Russians were in fact strong globally (while even taking Finland), so I got everything back.

Because Japan was still a big threat the war did not end, so I tried to take Latvia, Estonia (both Axis by then) and even Sweden. The Russians did almost all the work and I got all of Latvia, Estonia and some Swedish provinces, pretty funny. Especially Sweden was funny, not sure how something tlike that can be justified :p

Anyway I played until 1960 and the war was still not over and I had no real idea what was happening, I just think Russia and Japan were in a naval deadlock, so actually the whole world was. I had built a nuclear reactor just for fun, but I realised I could never even use a nuke so stopped wasting time.

Next time I'll try playing as Latvia and see what happens ;)

I always start in 1936, video starts just after I declared war on Germany (yes me :p) Too bad I forgot to tape the war declaration. Just for the heck of it I did it myself and the Russians send me a message that they would take decisions like that in the future :p Maybe I contributed a bit this way as I think Germany wasn't 100% prepared on the easter front...

Funny and annoying how the Russians retook you, you got your independence back and they left you on your own, a few regiments kicked you ass since you had no army, the russians saved and it repeated again and again.
