Around 800 guests sit down to New Zealand's longest lunch in the picturesque seaside setting of Napier's Marine Parade Gardens at a u-shaped table that stretches for over 250 metres. Having just completed its ninth year, the CJ Pask Winery Great Long Lunch has become an iconic event, attracting guests from all over the country and overseas.
The sumptuous three-course meal is prepared by contemporary cuisine catering company, Dish Foods and served by 70 waiting staff. This year, Executive Chef, Jenny Parton focused her efforts on creating exquisitely flavoured food from locally grown produce.
A variety of locally produced CJ Pask wine is served. Founder of the Gimblett Road wine-growing region, C J Pask Winery has won numerous medals and trophies in national and international competitions and is recognized as one of New Zealand's leading producers of Bordeaux style red wines.
Avidiva, an energetic Wellington-based trio performed in 2009. They combined their dynamic vocal talents, lively choreography and fabulous costumes to entertain guests - with songs from the '60s right through to the present day.
