When Uncle Forry passed away in December 2008, I did not post my usual tribute video as I had done for Stan Winston & Don Lafontaine because the VHS tape I wanted to use became lost in the abyss known as The DIOTD library.

Now I have re-discovered the tape I had wanted to use for 4SJ's
tribute video. The source tape is 19 years old and there is some wear and tear on the audio portion and specifically the fact that it was recorded using Analog TV (remember that?) and from a UHF station as well (no cable then just some rabbit-ears)..I think the upload looks pretty good considering all of these strikes against it.

Presented here is Forry's induction into The Horror Hall of Fame in 1990. Presented in it's entirety from opening introduction by Robert Englund to the only standing ovation ever received by an inductee in the award programs short three year history.

I hope everyone enjoys it and this video also goes out to my friends RF & MO who were "this" close to roaming the Ackermansion but alas knocked on the wrong door at the wrong time.

  • of all the things i was impressed with about forry, i was most impressed with the people in the industry he knew. in the ackermansion he had picture after picture of himself with all the horrow giants now gone...boris karloff, bela legosi, peter lorre, and vincent price to name a few.

he was fortunate to have heard h.g. wells speak and later meet him and shake his hand. a living legend.

seems like i do remember last year when all his collection went up for auction, one at a time of course.

  • Deep respect for the man who made me fear what might be lurking under my bed at night when I was a kid. It was a great magazine... the ultimate in "cool" for a young boy. The kid in town who had the latest issue was king for a day as all the others would gather in his room for a "glimpse of the gore"

  • Thanks for uploading this classic TV moment!

  • RIP Forry! You were the best! Pops

  • Great tribute and very good quality considering all the things mentioned in the description. Those mags were great and the 70's was the absolute greatest time to be kid/teen

  • I'm a monster freak and collector and own stacks of FM mags...I am the way I am because of Forry and his magazines...R.I.P. Forry.

  • R.I.P. mr forrest !
