Just another fucking fake video to be reported. The only question i do have is how this could be seriously discussed. This is neither timelapse nor a tsunami. The CNN logo doesn´t make this real footage...

@coolbionicle: Just realized you were commenting on my use of the word tides on my original post. You agree correct...I misused that word...meant to say surge...I age a full tidal cycle would go by much faster and we would also see day turn into night.

@scombridae1969 Did you knew that tides rise and back away every twelve hours? Judging by the speed of the waves here, this video was about four to five hours. If you timelapsed the tides in the time of this video the waves would go waaay faster.

I thought it was snow drifting down a mountain, I was waiting to see a 14,000 ft Hilo tidal wave, to melt it in a flash.

This video could have been great.

It's a timelapse of a shallow reef with the tide coming in and then going out - the white trails on the "ripples" are waves breaking on the reef - the fact the shot is pulled back and the sense of timelapse make it seem out of proportion to reality.
This was one of the worst videos on the news at the time, and was shown widely on Hawai'ian TV. There was nothing for the viewer to detect the scale of what was being seen. While it is, in fact, an actual reef in the distance, it appears more like a 3 inch length of dirty sand that could have been placed in a shallow metal pan. They really needed to show more of the beach, people, and/or trees in the foreground so viewers could get a handle on the scale.
