Bio:

Amel Larrieux is an R&B veteran. She started out in the early 90s as one half of the hit making duo Groove Theory, scoring a billboard top 5 hit with "Tell Me". After the group disbanded, Amel embarked on a successful solo career in the year 2000 with her debut album "Infinite Possibilities". Her singles "Get Up" and "Sweet Misery" both charted respectfully on billboard's R&B chart, but didn't win enough commercial acclaim to impress label heads at Epic Records. Amel was soon dropped and pushed into a possible retirement before deciding to distribute her music independently. This decision landed Amel her biggest hit yet of her solo career, the smoothed out mid-tempo single,"For Real". "For Real" received considerable airplay on R&B, matching and rivaling her major label success with Epic Records. The "For Real" video was also a staple on BET in after hours music video programs and has received over a hundred thousand hits on Youtube. Amel has since continued her success as a solo artist and plans to release her material hence forth independently on her own label Bliss Life.
