Young Girl Hit By Car In Critical Condition - Modesto News

Last night at approximately 7:45 p.m. an 11 year old girl was hit by a passing minivan as she attempted to cross the street in front of her house on W. Rumble Rd. near Prescott Ave. in Modesto, California.

The driver of the van struck the girl as he traveled westbound on the road and according to witnesses the van rolled completely over the girl after she was struck.

She sustained severe injuries during the collision including massive head trauma and possible a broken hip. According to the Modesto Police Department she is currently in critical condition after being airlifted to a specialized children's hospital from a local hospital.

According to officials at the scene neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the collision however, they did state that it is too early in the investigation to tell if any type of criminal charges will be filled.
