Grey Lady Of The Sea, written for & taken from the DRUM: A Journey Of A Lifetime, 1987 PAL VHS.

Simon Le Bon partnered with producer/songwriter Nick Wood in 1985 to produce Grey Lady of the Sea, Simon Le Bon's first solo recording, and in 1988 they formed Syn Records.

This is a different mix from the version that was released on CD in the 80's (and from that which appears mid way through the video with narration) featuring more chimes during the verse.

Enjoy!

  • i have seen that boat owned by Arnold Clarck on the river Clyde!!

  • I saw her in the harbour in Rothsay, Isle of Bute, just down from there! Her natural hunting ground. That was before she had har 'Arnold Clarke' makeover, so she looked like she did in this video.

  • Can anybody out there tell me what was on the b-side of this brilliant number?. Its something I never thought about, been too caught up just listening to this all along. So as I said anyone with info, please please tell me now. Cheers!

  • @Claudia97315 i think this guy has used up his nine lives first the boat then then motor bike, then his voice

  • @renee29404 same here should of kept it and the book

  • @medazaman thats who did the song:) arcadia not duran

  • Listening to this, you could see where Arcadia took their music cues from, especially the instrumental break. In fact this should have been included on the remastered / expanded edition of, So red the Rose c.d. d.v.d. as a bonus track. It would have been a welcome addition, in my opinion anyway. I remember the first time hearing this track, was when I was just browsing through the tv channels one evening, and it wasnt long on. Enjoyed it immensely along with the other tracks included. Happy days

  • duran duran ,the group most hate for the critics of music . they make wonderful music better than the stars of today . ,mtv and vh1 hate them today . duran duran ,they are legends of music.

  • OMG I love this song. Been trying to find it on Itunes with no luck. Brings back memories. I used to have the video about DRUM.
