The Division of Technology and the Arts housed within the College of Arts and Letters encompasses Music, Art and Theater. These disciplines are interactive programs at Stevens that attract a unique type of student who appreciates, envisions and creates traditional arts through the prism of technology. These are the students who have come together to form ACE- the Alternative Controller Ensemble.

The students in ACE have been influenced by the music of great legends, from the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and David Bowie to Frank Sinatra and more. They have listened and played much of this music in their own bands and together are able to innovate new ways to recreate classics with their own interpretation. It's not just an electronic cover of the Stones' Paint It Black. These musicians have learned new techniques to play music on technology usually used in other ways. As they progress, the ACE students plan to invent new instruments and methodologies to push the envelope of how music is created.

It is not only about the music. Students from the Art and Technology Major are also involved in creating visualizations for this multimedia presentation. With live on-stage video morphing during the performance, this presentation will be a debut of the forward thinking visionaries in the Division of Technology and the Arts at Stevens Institute of Technology.
