Retired from the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff's Office and a longtime cattle farmer, he died at 6:08 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at Pointe Coupee General Hospital in New Roads. He was 59, a resident of Lettsworth, a native of Arkansas and a longtime resident of Louisiana. Visiting at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Simmesport, on Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. James Wynn. Interment in Tabernacle Baptist Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Donna C. Gann, of Lettsworth; daughter, LaDawnia and husband, Joshua, of Ventress, and their children, Haley Danyiel, Cole Michael Douglas, Alyse Ellen, Lexie Layne and Joshua Jr.; foster son, Joshua Addington, of Shreveport, and his children, Mallory Layne and Landon Myles; three sisters, Delia Ann and husband, Carl Wells, of Shreveport, Anna Sue and husband, Larry McCloud, of Weldon, Ark., and Barbara and husband, Shelly Howard, of Bradford, Ark.; and brother, Jones Elton Gann, of Weldon. Preceded in death by his parents, Arvel D. Gann Sr. and Rachel Morrison Gann; and brother, A.G. Gann. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Southerland, Jordan Lemoine, Garland Rodriguez, Russ Rodriguez, Dean Vosburg, Jerry Moore and Josh Addington. Honorary pallbearers are Cole Michael Douglas, Joshua Amond Sr., Dylan Castille and Jordan Pelley.
