(1998) This is a very short documentary piece that focuses on the joys and hazards of being a bike messenger in Chicago. The story is told through still images that are animated, and the concentration here is the skill of the editing as it interweaves with voice-over narration by the messengers themselves.

This short and the other related pieces were shown during Tom Frisch's MFA Thesis Exhibition.

  • I like that you interviewed average bike messengers, not the image of a bike messenger (20-something hipster white male on a $1500 fixed gear bike).

  • Should be: demand>Supply=mo$ for the same product.

  • @shorty6packs Chicago still has some real messengers. I think of the folks who come out once the weather gets nice are the types that you are describing.

  • I got a GT road bike!

  • I think that this was BEFORE douche bag rich kid elitist hipsters. and 1500$ bikes. demand =supply=mo$ for the same product.

    get smart.

  • awesome video

  • (and by "average" I do not mean something negative, but the average messenger you'd see on the streets)
