My God. So good. As a copywriter looking for a director, I can only say how I wish talent like this still existed. So many people trying to one-up each other with visual effects and the latest green-sky European color palate.

Humanity. Humor. Humility. Tubas.

Thank you for posting these, Jerry.

The Walter Harris Independent Life commercial is a complete riot. It is the odd details that really stand out in Sedelmaier's commercials. For example the people about to sneak into frame during the Fibreglas Pink commercials or low-angle camera shots pointed toward the clients in the commercials about bad-client service.

Dont forget the goofy music in the background, like the trucker music in the wendy's truck driver commercial

Genius. What happened to Joe? I heard he was making a documentary of his hometown in Ohio. Great, great stuff.

The documentary is on hiatus for now...

He's currently working on a DVD release compilation of his most famous spots, his short film, Openminds (appeared at Sundance in 2003), and a documentary about him called Point of View... They're hunting for a distributor right now...

Hope one can be found! Love to see an update to these old vhs releases (this, and one made by Parker Bros. as a VCR game type deal).

Wouldn't mind checking it out if it does come out. I was once in or near Orrvile, but only briefly on a trip with my dad when I was a young'un. Aside from finding out Smuckers is HQ-ed there, the local dairy, Smith's provides me in several locations in my neck of the woods.

The DVD release I mentioned earlier is coming around...

Point of View just premiered in LA a few weeks ago, and will be screened at the 39th USA Film Festival in Dallas along with Joe's short films at the end of the month.

Hopefully a distributor will take interest!

We can only hope. It would be neat to see a DVD made where you can search the ads through specific themes relating to that particular ad's premise, or even by certain types of ads relating to what business they're used in.
