Sebastian Wheat of Wheat Works Productions visits the Organ Guru studio to test the ventilator. He ends up taking 2 of these units home to New York City. visit www.organguru.com for everything Hammond and Leslie and More......
This works awesome with an installed sound setup with subwoofers. Even sounds really good thru a good amp. If you would normally have mic'ed a leslie in a back room this is tops. The adjustments alone make it awesome
To me the neo Ventilator sounds ok, maybe a little gritty.
The real issue as i see it is this: why would anyone buy a Neo V, a hammond 11pin convertor, 5+ cables, one PSU for the NeoV, and then two 40lb mackie speakers+2 power cables....isnt it easier to buy a real leslie, 3300, or even a 2101 mk2 - one box, one audio cable, and one power cable.
I would go with the 122 leslie, Its mechanical bearings and wind noise makes a big difference is a big part of the sound. The venitlator is good but it takes away the warmth and depth from the sound although the tones is still present. I think the unit would be good for novice but for the money i would save a little more to by a hammond Leslie 2101mk2. It has an upper rotor horn. When turning, the horn is mechanically creating wind. The wind is pushing the higher horn sound and the digital lower
