This is the USS Carthage (NCC-60310). The grand old lady of Starfleet. The Excelsior class has now been in service for over 100 years and I am proud to have been given the opportunity to continue the Excelsior's fantastic tradition of exploration as one of the most enduring images of the United Federation of Planets.

This vessel, named for the historic city state of Carthage has had many distinguished crews over the years and it is my hope that myself & my crew can give them something to be proud of. Don't let her age fool you. This ship has been refitted and can rival the very best in Starfleet. It's our job to prove that.

The vessel is part of Horizon Fleet's Task Force 22 - The Explorers under the direction of Commodore Iluvar.

actually, you are right...i remember the beginning of the film, the music starts as you see a long shot of the Nerada and the fleeing shuttles, just before the title shows up
