because here in the philippines no one uses firecrakers in chineese funeral srvices but sometimes filipino we do it 2...but only a few times, what i really wanted 2 hapen is i'd lyk this tradition 2 hapen here in our chineese community...I wish some Filipino Chinese will see and wach on you tube.

Rituals using firecrackers
As its purpose was originally to drive evil spirits away, it was also used in funerals. However, over time, the use of firecrackers evolved to take on a more positive connotation. Funeral Procession
It was believed that while a newly departed soul sought to go to the Western Paradise, stray ghost would come by and hinder the departed soul. Taoists priest would chant liturgies to guide the spirit and firecrackers were in turn ignited to dispel these ghosts

I actually dont know. but Chinese use firecrackers for everything. I was following a Chinese family during the new year to their grant parents grave and they used many firecrackers on their grave. in China they use it a lot specially during the new year
