The Black Hole - Space Sequences Tribute

A Spaceship Model and vintage SFX Tribute. All Spacescenes from the Movie are cut in full length together. 7:22 Min. They're ALMOST all in chronological order. (i only flipped the Palomino drifting into the Black Hole at the beginning) All Space Scenes in one row ;). And remember: NO Computergraphics back then. All was handmade. For instance the nozzle exhausts are all drawn by hand!

Update: April 2011. Quote Wiki: "In November 2009, it was reported that Disney has plans to remake the movie. Director Joseph Kosinski and producer Sean Bailey are attached to the production. In the Disney film Tron: Legacy, a poster for The Black Hole can be seen in the bedroom of Sam Flynn in 1989. An action figure of the robot old B.O.B. can be seen next to the Tron action figures on his shelf."

What a great movie. I actually just watched it again on DVD tonight. The Cygnus is one of the best sifi ships of all time.

i think this movie is a horror, because it was made with such a sense of doom but unseen until the end. i find it a lot like a Dracula movie where the guests are given a false sense of security, but they know they are in danger, which is the irony.

the moral of the story, dont go to dark places, there are creatures that lurk in the darkness.

Excellent work sir, thanks for making and posting this video. The U.S.S Cygnus is the most iconic ship to ever grace the silver screen. I just hope when the remake comes out in 2012 they don't mess with the ship to much and do it all in crapy CGI. I've just started building a 3/4 size model of the Cygnus and it will be approx 9ft 7inches long when completed. I've set aside a year for this task and will be posting regular video/stills of work in progress, please drop by sometime on my profile.

They ought to do remake of this movie without the Disney kiddy-crap nonsense that made the original a flop without it's confusing ending. Making a darker get real scifi epic would do this for a remake movie version in my opinion would do it justice!
