Helen Sewell Eaton, 88, departed this Earth and was welcomed into the Lord's loving arms on Oct 8, 2011. Helen was born on Mar 3, 1923, in Midlothian, Texas. She grew up in an orphanage, graduated from business school and worked at TCU for over 30 years as executive assistant to the Dean. In 1942, she married her one and only love, James B. Eaton. They had two children, Carolyn and Judy. Helen was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend who lived a gracious life always caring for and putting others ahead of herself. She had a deep and unwavering faith in God and lived her life accordingly. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by so many family members and friends. Helen was a true lady. Mrs. Eaton is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Alford, of Colorado Springs, and her sister, Margie Walker, of Lake Charles, LA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kathy, Karen, Scott (Alison), Craig (Liz), Mark (Shannon) Alford, Kristi Barto (John), Blake Gaines, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James, daughter Judy, brother Herman, brother Jasper, grandson Bart, and granddaughter Carol.
A memorial service was held on October 9, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Sunridge Retirement Home.
