First they play word disassociations and then Derren guesses his secret image.

WOW!!! I did what the Phycologist was doing with the drawing and the thinking and I was thinking of a white tiger turned to the side and I drew a carrot!! I know it's not exactly the same but it's pretty close to what the guy was thinking and what he drew!!!

is it not more likely that while he was distracted and drawing the tree Derren persuaded him that the secret image he had locked away was a cat when it wasnt? check the sketch where he persuades Simon Pegg that what he really wants for christmas is a bmx!!!

Yep, you are spot on. Also, notice how after he explains the basics of the exercise he throws out words like Picture, Image, World, and then continues with Feel free. The first thing I thought of was a field. Its hard to draw just a field thats why the guy draws the grass and the trees. And then he tells the guy to change his mind and comes up with the Catch me out, making the guy change the image in his mind to the cat. Check out Derrens face at 6:09 when he knows its spot on
