Clip 1 of our interview with NYU Media Professor and author of "Boxed In: The Culture of TV", "Mad Scientists: The Secret History of Modern Propaganda" and "The Bush Dyslexicon". Here, he describes what he calls "subliminal-suasion" and describes how it works in relation to the Newport cigarette advertising campaign.

  • I checked your site again. I want to see this so bad that, even though I'm totally broke, I'm willing to buy a copy. But as far as I can tell from your website, it's not even for sale. I notice all your responses to comments are from at least a year ago. What is going on? Have you been offed by the gov't or something? HOW CAN I SEE THIS FILM? PLEASE ANSWER. Thank you.

  • Hey thanks this is fascinating.

I'd like to find more of Mark Crispin Miller on advertising but most of what I find is about the US elections. I saw him in a Douglass Rushkoff show The Persuaders, also very good.

  • ¿?

  • oohh thanks :D
