too true pal , im fi edinburgh and its the same here, different parts have different accents... but neds still sound the same everywhere in scotland ahink :L .
People fi other countries dinny understand that like county in scotland has a different accent - ive been tae ayr, glasgow, the borders, fife and up north and they aw have different accents fi edinburgh.
BTW, people fi edinburgh dinny aw sound like begbie fi trainspotting ;).

Dude, are there different accents IN Glasgow? .... or do they all have the same one? (in glasgow) .... and do people in Scotland use a lot of slang? ... 'cause I'm from Canada, so I have a lot of trouble understanding more than half of what I hear...... and btw .... what are you doing in Australia?

Aye, you have a group of people - youngsters we call Neds and they have all adopted some strange nasel based accent - fucking awful sounding
Then some of the posh types talk a more queens english based version and that tends to make them sound a bit different.
Slang, for sure - half the people in Australia don't understand a word I say even when I don't regress into my familiar words that they have never heard of
Australia is awesome - well worth a visit man!
