This is an arrangement of the Red Brinstar that is heard in Super Metroid. After composing Red Brinstar (Echoes Mix), I thought about creating another version, that had the feel of the Super Metroid Red Brinstar. It turned out better than I thought it would. I didn't even do that much. I replaced the underwater SFX with wind SFX, and switched the roles of the piano and synth. I feel this song is best listened to with Red Brinstar (Echoes Mix).

This was made for the project "Metroid: Net Mission", which is a fangame. It's a 2D Metroid game, where you can select one of the many characters in the Metroid universe, and then battle it out with other players online. Currently, the physics engine is being worked on, and the game has a little while to go before being complete, but it's getting there.

I have finally figured a way around an annoying glitch that was preventing me from uploading movies to YouTube. Expect more very soon.

  • Dude, what's the the time signature and bpm for this in said time signature? It's really confusing, because it seems like it repeats a pattern of three bars, the first two being in 3/4 and the last one being in 2/4. Is that right? And how would I write that out in a DAW? I'm currently using Sonar X1 Producer, if you need to know.

  • @CriticsConfession You're making it too complicated. It's standard 4/4. You might want to count it out in eighths though (eg 12312345). I think the BPM is around 90. Good luck with your mix! How long have you been creating music?

  • This is so fucken awesome!!! Great job to whoever in hell did this..

  • @stnevv The very first version of Red Brinstar (featured in Super Metroid) was by Kenji Yamamoto. This was arranged by me. :D

  • Hey bro, I accidentally hit dislike. Sorry, man, I liked it alot! It was an honest mistake, so don't mind it.

  • @mrfoozy47 Just hit the Like button then lol.

  • Probably one of the best Red Brinstar song's I've heard in a very long time.

It has that atmosphere and ambient tone from the original and really portrays the mystery the original level presented to the player, especially right after the chaotic Green Brinstar area.

A proper cool-down moment where combat wasn't the center focus, but rather linear exploration and puzzle solving, at least in terms of honing down one's jumps.

    Great song!

  • @Dracomancer350 yeeeeeeaaaaah,it IS cool,wait not cool,It's Samus cool XD

  • @CriticsConfession yeah, he's right. it's easier to count in eighths too, i don't do it though

  • This is such a fucking awesome remix, man! You deserve a medal or something.

  • @DaDude261 well youve done justice to a great game..thanks for that

  • @DaDude261 Hey. I don't really like doing this and I don't intend this to be spam or anything, cause I'm not telling anyone else really, but more you directly. I just finished making mine tonight (it's 4:30 in the morning) and I uploaded it. Just figured I'd tell you that if you want to check it out. It's on my channel. I'd like to thank you so much for telling me about the time sig..

  • @DaDude261 Also, the counting of the 12312345 is what I originally tried after I found it difficult to count it in 4s, assuming that it was like I said, counting it out as 123-123-12. Your way helped me grasp it better. Thank you, friend.

  • @DaDude261 Thank you for all of that. Also, could you by any chance tell me the same about the Lower Maridia [Maridia 1 I believe you called it] song (your rendition of that gave me CHILLS down my spine. Truly incredible. Give yourself a hug for your amazing skills)?

I myself have been making music for about 10 years now (quit doing that formal, written type music about two years back and only remember what I need now). Took 5 years of music theory as well. These songs are rather tricky though.
