I've seen swaps like this go for less than 3k.... people need to learn to do the work themselves. 13bs are easy to find, cheap to rebuild, and no engine management is needed if you go the carb route. Swapping over the fc/fd fuel sys isn't hard, and megasquirt is cheap compared to the other components. You can also use the stock miata transmission with a simple mod.
