Fred I'm with you. Up here in Pacifica they're getting sent out (primarily by NorCal surf shop) with no etiquette lessons at all. They don't look back, they just go, even when you're coming right at them from 50 yards back. I entirely blame the surf shop for it.
Again, why are you attacking the messenger? And it really has nothing to do with the ability of the surfers as much as the poor quality of their behavior. Great surfers can be real pigs and collide with other great surfers too.

Appreciate the love. I do surf. But when it's crowded why ruin a day/ Again you're missing the point on etiquette and that these people don't just ride foam boards and they do go to spots way beyond their abilities. I'm not running for office. I won;t be able to surf for a couple months because I'm currently getting treatments for cancer.

It's tough. WIth board prices at ridiculous costs between 1200 to 1800, these people buy foam boards or crap ones because they are just like their boards: disposable. They aren't going to commit to surfing, but the problem is, they replace each other like shark's teeth. You have to wonder a middle-aged person who doesn't play any sports, feels they should take up surfing and endanger everyone else so they can be cool. They've taken the cool out of it, they don't see it, they see what they want.

Has nothing to do with being experienced. It has everything to do with people without soul. These same people are also paddling out to advanced breaks and acting the same way. Myabe I'm just showing you how they hatch.

Yes, we go in as kooks and come out as kooks. But this is a different breed. They outnumber the experienced surfers in the water and they don't care about etiquette. It's about getting what they want. If they acted that way in another other sport, they'd be thrown out of the game,

It's not just ankle biters. It's about the demise of etiquette. These people go to surf classes and get a clue the artificial way and are only concerned about what they want: period.
