Welcome to path of Aikido. Unlike other martial arts based on kicks or punches, Aikido uses circular movements to naturalize the incoming energy in order to gain a peaceful resolution.
Shioda-sensei formed the Yoshinkan style of aikido to obtain a greater consistency by using a structured method in training beginner students. Using these 6 basic movements as a strong foundation, students can gain a sense of balance, focus, and power while cultivating the spirit with peace, harmony, and compassion.
At Aikido of Del Mar, we combine the practice of the body, mind, and spirit to enlighten the path to your personal mastery.
