Israel's war on Gaza left 4,000 homes destroyed and 17,000 damaged, not to mention a state infrastructure in ruins. The international community has pledged $5bn to fund reconstruction but the Israeli government will not allow even the most basic building materials to cross into Gaza. In this week's Focus on Gaza, correspondent Todd Baer reports on how this is hampering reconstruction efforts.

All Israel have to do is get out of the settlements in the West bank and Gaza and they will be in the process for peace with their neighbors. There must always be some degree of trust to accomplish peace. At this pace with what Isreal is doing, There will never be Peace till Armageddon.

if you look at gaza in the context of other recent middle east conflicts, you'll realize how stupid you all sound when calling israelis nazis. what i mean is this: while israel killed about 1200 gazans,

1. in '88, saddam killed over 100,000 of his own kurd citizens

2. in '82, syria's president bombed his own city of hama, killing 10,000-30,000 of his own citizens

3. in '88, according to ayatollah khomeini's heir-designate, khomeini had 30,000 iranian prisoners slaughtered

during the ceasefire, israel provided some aid to gaza as a generosity - it was never their responsibility since hamas has its own govm't. and since hamas has time & again proven itself to be extremely corrupt & unaccountable to their own constituents, there's no question that they would use cement to build bunkers & villas for their officials. in voting for hamas, the gazans knew exactly what they were getting themselves into. it's sad, but they made their bed & now they have to sleep in it

He shot himself in the foot when he says that "...there is more aid going in now than during the ceasefire". It has been cited by many major humanitarian orgs that Israel is not allowing in enough aid.. into Gaza. If Israel therefore allowed less aid into Gaza during the ceasfire than no wonder why the ceasfire broke down. In other words Israel broke the ceasefire long before they murdered 6 Hamas members, which resulted in rockets being fired by the Palestinian resistence! Israelis = Nazis

I also, predict that now that the palestinian, homes have been destroyed, given a few years you may see palatial houses owned by citizens,of which some of the palestinian people cannot afford to buy, or build .. . "Build the homes for the Palestinian families that have been devastated. by the acts of Israel.

Was their any way, for Israel to give refuge to the civilians of Palestine, (namely the women and children and the elderly), of Palestine, before Israel started bombing and terrorizing the Palestinian civilians with phosphorus rockets . Don't tell me, that Israel or the International Community didn't know that women and children and the elderly were going to be the casualties. and that the International Community didn't know that an attack on Palestinian was emanate. thank you.
