I found it interesting listening to his daughter and friend....the directors were all a little wet.......

The guy at the end talking about movies about special effects is quite right.

Lousy writing can be camoed by special effects....but in the end it is another forgotten flick.

Akira Kurosawa is the best Japanese director so far. His works reflected the emotions and motivations of human beings. I look forward that Japanese Cinema industry would focus more on film making then animation and experimental. In addition, movies like "Swallowtail", "Tetsuo" and "Visitor Q" are dope. Very inspiring.

The documentary was informative but I thought could have been made better. Why weren't any pictures shown of Kurosawa until one or two at the very end?

Long live AKIRA KUROSAWA!!!! I was so near to fall apart, and when i watched Ikiru, it made me re-consider my life, and hence i've changed. He wasn't, he is one of the greatest film makers ever!!!

A pretty good documentary by Cox, who must be commended for seeking out so many of Kurosawa's old collaborators. I would have liked to see a few more of his favourite actors, Kyoko Kagawa being an obvious choice. But that's just nitpicking on my part.

by '99 woo was considered representative of the chinese contingent in hollywood/"global stage", and his hits w/ american stars gave him enough weight. today it might be johnny to who's also hugely influenced (throw down '04 pays homage to sanshiro sugata), irrespective of his league. the best chinese guy under AK's influence they could've gotten was king hu, alas he died in '97.
