@Kassaremidybelllynn I don't think this song is hard range-wise. This is in the range of a high baritone and the part is written for a low tenor. Albeit the last A (it's dropped to a G in this version) is pretty tough, I think the A at the end of Rent is probably 10 times harder.

@ElmoAboob It's a whole step down.

@alexpannullo Both "Rent" and "I'll Cover You (Reprise)" are harder, vocally at least.

@BroadwayKidNamedJosh I agree. I'm playing Roger at a teen theater and some kids just don't have the vocal ranges or the power.

Christmas bells is insofar as group vocals, but Glory is one of the tougher solo's.

I think he was struggling to get the a few of the notes. Which is completely understandable because they're pretty high notes to chest. One of my friends, a trained tenor, tries to sing it all of the time, but can barely maintain the notes without blowing out his brain. I still think he did a great job. The instrumentals were a bit off though.

I think they lowered the key to this song for the school edition, because, well its vocally complex. You can kinda tell if you play this with the original recording.

3:29... Why must he squeeze his breasts?

The kid is gorgeous to look at ... fair to listen to. ;) Kudos for the excellent effort!!

Not terrible, I must say.
I really think RENT isnt a show for schools. Not because people think its "innapropriate" it's for the demanding vocals. Maybe community theatres, where they can get more developed voices. But this show is demanding and not too many teenagers and able to provide the quality this show needs vocally.
