Read the Bible and find out

Notice: It was indeed the remembrance of the fear of the Lord that play a pivotal role in that boy finding assurance. What has gone unnoticed is also the goodness of the Lord that visited his heart with that assurance. Godly sorrow does indeed work repentance as shown in 2 Cor.; but this godly sorrow is the other side of the same coin where Romans reveals that the goodness of the Lord worketh repentance. So many passages of the Bible that illustrate this experience. Psalms is full of them.

@Complex1989 The bible says that Godly sorrow leads to repentence. Don't let the devil condemn you. If your sorrow makes you feel hopeless then ignore it because its evil. We are to preach the word but we don't want to be parrots of truth, Christ says to bare fruit we must abide in him, so stop worrying, seek and get close to God first, and you will not be able to stop yourself from preaching the gospel when your ready. We shouldn't be parrots of truth, we should preach with Christ likeness

This makes sense. But what about other things? I have succumbed to the temptation of internet porn. . . at times, consistently. And other times, without it. I dont "practice" it, but I have done it. When I did it I knew it was wrong, and hated myself and the sin for it, I hated myself and wanted to stop, is that fear of the Lord too?

"And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me." (Jeremiah 32:40 KJV)

If he would have gone, that would have proven that his heart was never TRULY changed by God. This proved that it had been.
-
...
Then he's not saved. Very simple.
-
It's fear as in reverence, not fear as in being afraid.
-
Had the boy been a legalist he would've listed a law that demands him not go rather than refer to his fear of the Lord being that thing which stops him.
-
A legalist wouldn't have listed the fear of the lord as a reason not to go; but a law that demanded he not attend. Hence the name legalist.
I feel like that Romenian boy ,but being a christian in a modern country isn't easy.
If I would dear to say I'm a christian, they would just all laugh about me and make me a fool.

Don't hide the fact that you're a christian. Jesus said that we should rejoyce and be glad if we are persecuted for His sake. Read Matthew 5:10-11-12. God Bless You!
