After a long long period of 32 years, I again watched this morning through the courtesy of Youtube. It is simply a magic of Information Technology. All the characters of Flambards gave the impression as if you are watching the real episode.

This short series was often overlooked by local PBS stations and by fans. The modest tale, small budget and lack of "Masterpiece" stars meant only that it was a hidden gem of imported TV. It's a good tale with plot twists and the eternal battle of old versus new. One of my favorite series of all time!

I remember when this aired on PBS back in the early 80s; my family caught the first show and was hooked right away. And for weeks after, everything would halt so we could catch the latest episode. A good show for families to watch together. Probably good they never adapted the controversial last book in the series, which I think came out after this ended; reportedly it was a total about-face for the characters and some fans totally hated it.

A beautiful and haunting theme. Which is more than can be said for the YT'er who has posted Flambards clips with hideous and inappropriate R'n'B soundtracks.
