We go to Gaza to speak with award-winning Palestinian journalist Mohammed Omer. The twenty-four-year-old journalist and photographer from Gaza was physically and psychologically abused by Israeli security officials late last month. Omer, who is a correspondent for the Inter Press Service, was on his way back home after receiving the prestigious Martha Gellhorn Prize for Journalism in London. [includes rush transcript]

The IDF didn't care about the money. They were making his passage as miserable and humiliating as possible because he is a Palestinian journalist. That is his only "crime." I wonder how the IDF has this much time and resources to waste on torturing one young man who has never advocated violence. Shouldn't they be more focused on real terrorists?

Yeah I'm with Craig. This journalist obliviously tortured himself while he was unconscious! Me and Craig know that any journalist who isn't pro-Israeli is obviously a terrorist (or worse, a Nazi) and that the Dutch Embassy official is just lying about it as well.

In the month that Mohammed Omer was being tortured by the Israeli army, 4 children were killed by the IDF. Aya Hamdan Hamdan al-Najjar, 8 years old. Hadeel Abdul-Karim Suleiman al-Sumairi, 8 years old. Muhammad Anwar Jamil abu-Sara al-Alami, 16 years old. Muhammad Nasr Said Daraghma, 16 years old.

Yasser Muhammad 'Eid Abu halib 26 years old

Muhammad Hassan Muhammad 'Asaliyah 65 years old

Khalil Muhammad 'Abdallah Sukar 27 years old

These are innocent people that were killed by Israel in June.
