Thanks for posting and sharing and especially liked that the decoration she received for her actions were shown. Great job on the tribute to a great heroine and ace!

!Honor inmarcesible al pueblo soviético y a sus héroes¡ ¡Salud!

Beautiful work, and sad history. RESPECT to a great pilot and for her sacrifice.
-
Actually it was not a rose but a White Lily painted on the fuselage of her fighter.
The russian name Liliya is directly translated as Lily flower.
RIP, you were a great citizen and fighter.
-
wasnt she so short she had to have the controls extended? thats what i heard any way
-
@BolivarianYouth i agree
-
She had a white lily painted on the side of the fuselage that was confused for a rose, hence the nickname.

@GerbilEssences THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER WAS THAT SHE OFTEN FLEW WITH ROSES IN HER COCKPIT, AS LILIES ARE, UNFORTUNATELY SYMBOLIC OF DEATH- BUT SHE DID INDEED PAINT A LILY (HER FIRST NAME - LILYA, LILY) ON THE SIDE OF HER A/C.WHICH FROM A DISTANCE COULD EASILY BE MISTAKEN FOR A ROSE. Generations of biographers and writers have made the same mistake..
LOL That's the Red Orchestra Osfront music.

Nice flyby at the end ;)
I think the white rose marking is a myth, it was a name given her not her choice of logo. To the best of my knowledge I have never seen a picture or profile of the Yak with a white rose.
