To the couple in the video, I was around in the era for Happy Days & it's not danced the way you did. No offense at all, but it's like other comments said, you were a little too slow, the dance is more energetic & that was not the Jitterbug music. Happy days is another one. The dancing schools should get the real music for it.

I saw 'the jitterbug' dance on I love Lucy, episode ' Lucy has her eyes examined'. One chapter has Jitterbug 101, followed by 'auditions at the club', it shows Lucy & her dance instructor dance the Jitterbug. Different from the couple on video.

@bubblie4eva: Hint--a poodle skirt is nothing more than a simple knee-length circle skirt with a poodle decoration sewn on. ;)

@bubblie4eva: Search on 'poodle skirt' and 'crinolines'. You will also want a pair of saddle shoes (instead of the athletic shoes she is wearing) to complete the look. Nostalgia is still in; replicas should be available, if you cannot find originals in the vintage shops.

The jitterbug was a dance started by Blacks in the U.S. You can usually go to the juke joints to see people doing the jitterbug.
