BEHAVIORAL intervention?
so basically you dont help them or anything, just teach the kids to sit still so no one will notice they are different?
i had several psychologists and psychiatrists who have tried to 'tame' me and fit me into a certain idea of what is 'normal'. none managed.
i learned to deal with my issue (that wasn't a simple case) in my own way with the help of my family. but i dont kid myself by taking pills just to feel adequate, and im proud of who i am and what ive achieved.

Very good coment! Besides, atwhite, although mentioning important conclusions, i feel, at least in terms of tone, he is overemphasizing the research he's talking about. Non the less. ... I'm glad atwhite took the time to study it and give his explanation here.

anything published in 1999 may have alot of quality info. and i think this guy has alot of bright info, but i think its time to update that info. its probably still all true. but us ADHD people need to be able to use very recent stuff along with older stuff to be able to fight off the stupidity we have to deal with by the uninformed.

im ADD im 14 years old and if i did not take meds or if i was not involed with baseball and friends i would be a wreck. im a B student and a hard worker, ADD people are each different i feel. My friend took meds for ADD and he was a "zoombie". Yet i take 70mg of adderial and my personality is very outgoing. ADD kids need to brought up quicker i belive. i was brought up in a " rea life" invoriment and it has helped me in many ways because i am so mature. MEDS DONT HARM THEY HELP!
Thanks for posting this video ... it seems to me that you've turned something very good with the trials you've been given.

I think the results of the MTA study is really helpful to parents, because it says that their child's problem does not occur because they are bad parents. It just happens.
